Direct endpoint-to-endpoint media works fine until it does not — symmetric NAT, asymmetric routing, and carriers that will not accept media from an unknown IP all produce the same symptom: one-way or no audio. VoipXDialer Media Proxy terminates and re-originates the RTP stream at a point of presence close to both legs, so signalling and media follow a path you control.
